The Marvell QLE2692
This new card is a Fibre Channel interface with 2x 16Gbit/s FC ports for SAN management.
Fibre channel provides direct optic fiber connection between hosts and storage to reduce latency & provide high-speed access to data blocks. It is commonly used in SAN environments for virtualization storage.
As you may notice, the QLE2692 is currently produced by Marvell. Synology is providing this card through there own brand as a way to ensure availability & compatibility. Synology is keeping the manufacturer’s product name to avoid confusion.
The QLE2692 ships with two SR optical transceivers & standard full-height bracket installed. An additional low-profile bracket is included in the packaging.

Minimum DSM version requirement: DSM 7.2.1 (for all NAS) or DSM UC 3.1.3 (for UC units)

The card will be packed in a single package with a "Synology Certified" sticker attached on it.
